TailBooster: 운영 타당성 보장을 적용한 극단값 증강용 이중 계층 생성 프레임워크

Extreme events in air transport, such as severe arrival delays and abnormal air times, cause cascading network disruptions with substantial operational, economic, and safety costs. Such events are rare in historical records, leaving insufficient training signal for machine learning models. Synthetic data augmentation offers a principled solution, but conventional generative models under-represent distributional tails and give no guarantee against operationally infeasible instances, such as a short air time paired with a long flight distance. No existing approach addresses both limitations for mixed-type tabular records. We propose TailBooster, a dual-layer generative framework combining generative modelling with two anomaly detection layers. A statistical layer extracts extremes via the interquartile range, supplying tail-concentrated training signal to dedicated generative models, here a Tabular Variational Autoencoder. A deep learning layer then applies autoencoder-based cleaning, di

DarwinX: 자연선택으로 진화하는 에이전트 하니스

An LLM agent's capability depends not only on model weights but on its harness: prompts, tools, skills, and control flow. Self-improvement loops already edit harnesses, yet single-lineage search is path-dependent and local wins often regress other tasks. We introduce DarwinX, which treats self-evolution as selection over a population of harnesses with the model frozen: a preserve-and-extend contract admits only variants that extend coverage without regressing, an archive keeps alternative lineages for recombination, and failure-, teacher-, and self-derived evidence share one edit interface. Fitness comes from each benchmark's own verifier: no gold solutions, no hand-picked winners. Across four benchmarks that progressively separate the evolution signal from the test, one loop adds about 17 points on average: Terminal-Bench 2.1 rises +7.7 to 83.2% on a matched base and to the verified frontier at 84.7% on a stronger one; TerminalWorld's held-out split reaches 68.3%, ahead of every off-t

Context-Matched Distillation: 자기회귀 비디오 증류를 위한 교사 인과성

Interactive autoregressive video generation demands both low-latency rollouts and precise online control. Few-step distillation accelerates generation by reducing denoising steps, while online control imposes a causal constraint: frames and blocks should depend on history and controls available during generation. Existing video distribution matching distillation (DMD) pipelines, however, often supervise causal few-step students using bidirectional teachers that score complete clips. The score for a target can therefore depend on future frames and controls that were unavailable when the student generated it, misaligning teacher supervision with the student's causal information set. We introduce Context-Matched Distillation (CMD), a causal DMD framework that aligns teacher supervision with the information available when each target is generated. CMD replaces bidirectional full-clip scoring with a causal teacher that evaluates each target without access to future frames or controls. The s

Intern-S2-Preview: 과학 특화 Agentic Foundation Model

Scientific discovery increasingly requires AI systems that can reason over scientific evidence of heterogeneous modalities, interact with scientific tools and environments, and sustain progress across long task horizons. We present Intern-S2-Preview, a series of scientific agentic foundation models designed to support multimodal scientific understanding, reasoning, generation, and long-horizon tasks. The training pipeline begins with scientific multimodal pre-training over rendered scientific documents, interleaved image-text data, and diverse scientific corpora. Starting from the pretrained checkpoint, we apply a unified post-training pipeline consisting of supervised fine-tuning, scalable multi-task reinforcement learning (RL), black- and white-box agentic RL, and on-policy distillation. This pipeline is supported by practical techniques that improve rollout and training stability and efficiency, including partial rollout with off-policy correction, adaptive length regularization, on

Visual-token pruning can substantially reduce the inference cost of multimodal large language models (MLLMs), yet existing methods largely rely on fixed, handcrafted heuristics and costly expert trial and error. As pruning objectives, budgets, and model architectures diversify, manually navigating the expanding design space becomes increasingly difficult. This paper aims to build an AI4AI framework for visual-token pruning by addressing a natural question: Can large language models automatically design effective visual-token reduction algorithms? Although LLMs possess broad algorithmic knowledge and strong reasoning capabilities, translating such general knowledge into effective solutions for a specialized task remains nontrivial. We argue that the key lies in designing an appropriate search-state representation that connects the internal knowledge of LLMs with the structural requirements and constraints of visual-token pruning. Based on this insight, we propose AutoPrune, a training-f

AVA-Encoder: Agent-Native 비디오 표현 학습을 향해

Creative agents still lack an effective way to learn from high-quality human films, limiting their ability to produce cinematic-grade videos. A key challenge is the absence of a structured video representation that is both faithful to film content and directly usable for agentic reasoning and manipulation. To address the challenge, we propose the Agentic Video Auto-Encoder (AVA-Encoder), a framework for learning agent-native video representations via agentic auto-encoding. AVA-Encoder transforms a video into a knowledge graph (KG) representation and then reconstructs it back into video. Its hierarchy and state nodes store structured text, while a linked asset layer holds generated images, audio, and video. Typed edges preserve the relations between these text descriptions and assets in a form that agents can easily understand, query, and edit. The video reconstruction differences drive a textual-gradient optimization framework, which expresses evaluation feedback as natural-language

Autoregressive video generators are attractive for streaming, long-horizon, and interactive applications, but distilling strong black-box teachers into causal students remains difficult. The student must learn under its own rollout distribution, whereas practical teachers may expose only prompt-conditioned completed videos and may differ in architecture, capacity, temporal design, and sampling schedule. This interface makes supervised fine-tuning off-policy, score-based distillation inapplicable, and direct adversarial imitation too sparse for denoising-time credit assignment. We propose Adversarial Flow Distillation (AFD), an on-policy framework for heterogeneous black-box video distillation. AFD queries the teacher and rolls out the current student on the same prompts, trains a prompt-paired Bradley-Terry discriminator to estimate clean-sample teacher-student discrepancy, and converts the resulting on-policy advantage into forward-process flow-matching updates on the student's own no

Recent advances in foundation models have enabled AI scientists to automate increasingly complete research workflows, from hypothesis generation and code execution to manuscript preparation. Yet workflow coverage alone does not provide access to the full evidence on which scientific discovery depends. Existing systems typically reason over text, code, labels, or precomputed summaries, leaving scientifically decisive spatial, temporal, cross-channel, and procedural relations unavailable to the agent. We introduce OmniScientist, an end-to-end, omni-modal AI scientist that conducts multidisciplinary research directly from heterogeneous raw evidence. A perception layer and 3 autonomous agents for ideation, experiment, and writeup operate within a deterministic pipeline, allowing observations to shape research questions, experimental decisions, and final claims throughout the research lifecycle. 들리지 않는 입력이 모델 실패로 이어질 때: LALM의 저주파 안전 리스크

Large audio-language models (LALMs) have demonstrated strong capabilities in understanding diverse audio inputs. This diversity includes low-frequency signals that are inaudible to humans but can still enter the model and influence its generation. However, the practical impact of such low-frequency inputs on LALMs remains largely unexplored. In this paper, we propose Intermittent Low-Frequency Lockout (ILL), an inaudible red teaming method that evaluates this risk using a universal waveform template in a black box setting. ILL uses Sentence Attention Scale Estimation to determine active intervals and Frequency Confusion Transfer to construct a low-frequency waveform with continuous phase from corpus spectral variation. To mitigate this risk, we propose Distributional Requery Guard (DRG) to detect low-frequency distribution shifts and conditionally request a second recording for semantic recovery. Across six LALMs and multiple audio understanding tasks, ILL reduces accuracy by up to 67

Macaron-A2UI: 개인 에이전트를 위한 생성형 UI 모델

As personal agents evolve to handle complex, user-centric tasks, static plain-text chat is rapidly becoming a bottleneck. Generative UI emerges as the necessary new interface layer, dynamically synthesizing the right controls, options, and state from the interaction context in real time. We present Macaron-A2UI, a model for Generative UI in personal agents. Our goal is to move beyond text-only interaction by enabling agents to generate natural language together with lightweight, executable UI actions for information collection, preference refinement, confirmation, and multi-goal organization. We build a large-scale Generative UI corpus from heterogeneous dialogue sources, introduce A2UI-Bench for controlled evaluation, and train 30B, 235B and 754B models with parameter-efficient LoRA-based supervised fine-tuning followed by reward-driven reinforcement learning. Machine translation (MT) systems often fail to correctly translate gender, especially when converting from a gender-neutral language like English to a gendered target language such as Romanian. This bias results in translations that default to masculine forms or reinforce gender stereotypes. We propose a hybrid pipeline to mitigate this issue by combining large language model (LLM)-based gender classification with neural machine translation (NMT). Our system uses a fine-tuned LLM to detect the intended gender of target words in English sentences and insert inline gender hint tags. These tagged sentences are then passed to a Transformer model fine-tuned to generate morphologically correct Romanian translations. To support this, we introduce three novel datasets for gender disambiguation and translation. Our approach improves gender accuracy on the WinoMT and WinoGender benchmarks by over 40 percentage points compared to a baseline MT system. This is the first method to explicitly addres

자기지도 기반 비주얼 On-Policy Distillation

자기지도 기반 비주얼 On-Policy Distillation

Visual on-policy distillation relies heavily on an informative teacher-student asymmetry, through either a larger, stronger teacher or privileged supervision, such as reference answers or ground-truth regions of interest. This raises a fundamental question: where can informative asymmetry come from when nothing privileged is available? We answer this by inverting where the asymmetry comes from. Rather than adding privileged information to the teacher, we subtract information from the student. This asymmetry creates the same effective learning signal for free as a teacher with access to information unavailable to the student, without ground-truth annotations, rewards, or a separate stronger teacher model. Building on this principle, we introduce Self-Supervised Visual On-Policy Distillation (S^2VOPD), a simple yet effective method that constructs on-policy learning signals from asymmetric augmented views. S^2VOPD distills the teacher's distribution conditioned on the original image on-p

Marionette, 세계 상태 예측부터 기하 렌더링·외형 생성까지

Interactive game world models typically autoregress visual observations directly in pixel or latent space, forcing structured properties such as pose, geometry, and occlusion to be implicitly maintained by the same generative sequence. Over long horizons, errors in these latent world properties accumulate, making consistency and controllability fragile. We explicitly model the evolving world state, delegate exact geometric computation to a fixed, zero-parameter renderer, and leave the neural model to synthesize appearance. We instantiate this idea as Marionette, a world model for interactive games with articulated characters. First, a two-stage autoregressive dynamics model predicts an explicit and interpretable 276-dimensional 3D world state comprising multi-entity articulated skeletons, metric root trajectories, and rotations. Second, a zero-parameter graphics bridge converts the predicted state into pose-control videos, computing world-space geometry and occlusion in closed form. Th

We introduce Mobius-v0, an architecture that comprises a globally shared Memory (FFN) that stores knowledge vectors and multiple Reasoners (Self-Attn) that iteratively achieve compositional reasoning. Using hidden states as cache and carrier, reasoners repeatedly query memory for required knowledge-vectors, while the knowledge is transmitted back to reasoning operators. Through this knowledge-reasoning-separation architecture, Mobius achieves better knowledge compression and reasoning efficiency. Built upon Mobius-v0 architecture: 1) Our 7B model trained-from-scratch achieves similar downstream score as a 7B Transformer baseline with 62.6% of baseline's training data. 2) Our Intern-S2-Mobius, continually-pretrained from Qwen3.5-35B, achieves similar downstream score while delivering nearly 4x end-to-end inference speedup.

시계열 Foundation Model의 예측 붕괴

When forecasting hourly returns for 1,000 US equities, we observe an unexpected phenomenon: predictions become nearly flat and show poor stock ranking, as measured by cross-sectional correlation. We call this forecast collapse. Surprisingly, the phenomenon largely disappears when forecasting trading volume under the same setting. We investigate forecast collapse across time-series foundation models (TSFMs), twelve deep-learning forecasting models, and 97 public benchmark configurations, and find that it is closely tied to target predictability. We identify two distinct reasons behind it: low predictability limits the amplitude of calibrated point forecasts, while per-series objectives leave cross-series structure unidentified. These findings reveal a calibration-ranking tradeoff: optimizing squared error leads to flat predictions, whereas directly optimizing cross-sectional correlation improves ranking but can inflate forecast amplitude by more than an order of magnitude. Second Thought, LLM 에이전트의 행동·관찰과 병렬로 돌아가는 추론

LLM agents in the ReAct paradigm alternate between reasoning, acting, and observing, but deliberate reasoning is confined to the Thought phase: while the agent serializes an action and waits for the environment, its reasoning is frozen. We identify this recurring interval for Action and Observation as a reasoning idle window and ask whether it can host additional reasoning in parallel that serves future turns. Therefore, we propose Second Thought, a training-free inference framework that forks four auxiliary branches the instant each Thought phase concludes, decodes them concurrently with the main loop, and merges the generated thoughts back when the environment observation arrives. In this way, Second Thought relocates the added reasoning off the main thread's sequential decoding path. Across three agentic benchmarks and three reasoning LLMs, Second Thought lowers the average turn count in all nine (model, benchmark) pairs and reduces main thread decoding in six of them by up to 43% (r

The Muon optimizer incurs a significant overhead cost due to its cubic-time Newton-Schulz orthogonalization step. When weights are sharded, communication overhead compounds this computational cost, eroding the benefits of Muon in many settings. We present Dion3, a revision of Muon that targets this overhead at every level of the stack. Our Gram Newton-Schulz algorithm reduces the FLOP cost of orthogonalization, our CuteDSL kernels accelerate it by exploiting symmetry, and our megabatching strategy reduces communication overhead. Moreover, we propose a simple change to the update rule that cuts costs even further: selecting only a fraction of the momentum matrix's rows to orthogonalize at each step. This update rule improves on Dion (another "compressed" version of Muon), in both speed and performance. Overall, Dion3 matches or improves on the loss achieved by Muon but reduces optimizer step time by up to 6x. Dion3 is available via the dion package (https://github.com/microsoft/dion) as

LLM 프리트레이닝에서 도메인 데이터 반복 확장

As large language models scale, their training-token budgets must also increase to maintain an appropriate tokens-per-parameter ratio (\(TPP\)). However, high-quality domain data is much harder to scale than general web data. As model size and the training-token budget increase, its fraction in the training mixture tends to decrease. Repeating the available high-quality data provides an effective way to counteract this dilution, but excessive repetition may lead to overfitting. We study this trade-off under practical LLM scaling, where the training-token budget grows proportionally with model size. For a fixed domain, we first find that, surprisingly at a fixed \(TPP\), the optimal repetition count mildly increases with model size. Across different domains, we find that the optimal repetition count is strongly negatively correlated with the final validation loss of a domain: domains with lower loss can generally benefit from more repetitions. In contrast, the amount of unique domain da

Which reasoning behaviors are associated with correct answers in reasoning models, and does reasoning-oriented training amplify those behaviors? This distinction is important because reasoning-oriented training can make traces look more deliberative without amplifying the behaviors most tied to model correctness. We quantify this mismatch with Behavioral Lift, a metric that measures how much correctness changes when a behavior is present versus absent in a model's reasoning trace. Across 15 models and 6 benchmarks spanning text-only and vision-language reasoning, we annotate 15,282 traces with a taxonomy whose core behaviors are defined for both LLM and VLM traces. We find evidence for an Amplification-Lift Gap, in which thinking models strongly amplify self-correction, hypothesis testing, and uncertainty acknowledgment, while the highest-lift behaviors are confidence calibration, knowledge alignment, and self-awareness. Neural language models trained on large crowdsourced corpora frequently exploit spurious surface patterns tied to target labels without true linguistic or causal relevance, boosting benchmark performance while failing on adversarial or out-of-distribution inputs. Existing approaches either require manual specification of the feature vocabulary or automate discovery only partially, leaving the gap between dataset-level correlation and model-level exploitation unaddressed. We present U N M ASK, a fully automated pipeline that discovers, causally verifies, and mitigates spurious correlations in text classifiers without additional human annotation. 추론은 어떻게 흐를까? LLM 표적 RL을 위한 어텐션 유도 정보 흐름 추적

Token-level credit assignment remains a key obstacle for reinforcement learning (RL) in large language models (LLMs), where RL recipes typically treat all tokens equally, failing to distinguish decisive reasoning steps from routine formatting or fluent filler. Recent attempts leverage model-internal signals to assign finer-grained credit, but these are often point-wise heuristics that ignore the global structure of information propagation. We propose FlowTracer, an RL framework that traces answer-targeted reasoning flow on an attention-induced directed acyclic graph in which nodes correspond to tokens and edge capacities come from aggregated attention weights and derives token credit from this global structure. The edge capacities are reweighted to retain only the influence that can reach the answer region, while enforcing local flow conservation so intermediate tokens neither lose nor gain effective mass due to path length or irrelevant branches. On this graph, FlowTracer extracts an

Autonomous agents are increasingly capable of improving models, systems, and other technical artifacts through long-horizon experimentation. To understand the current state of this capability, however, evaluation must go beyond final scores, which neither reveal where progress is gained or lost nor indicate whether accumulated experience improves later decisions. We therefore present a systematic evaluation of seven frontier models on 36 long-horizon tasks based on a new framework that uses rule-based metrics to characterize within-run behavior through Solution Framing, Execution, and Feedback Control and controlled comparisons to assess experience reuse within and across tasks. While Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) have achieved remarkable progress, visual understanding and generation are typically treated as divergent objectives. Existing unified frameworks often rely on discrete visual tokenization or diffusion objectives whose generative targets differ from the continuous representations consumed by visual understanding models, making direct transfer to enhance existing pretrained MLLMs non-trivial. In this work, we present GAS, a generation-guided training framework that reinterprets visual generation as auxiliary supervision for representation learning. Concretely, GAS adapts Next Embedding Prediction (NEP) as a cross-modal generation paradigm within a decoupled Mixture-of-Transformers (MoT) architecture. Effective mitigation requires token-level localization, enabling targeted intervention without discarding the entire response. Consequently, studying knowledge and skill acquisition is difficult, as prior exposure to related content is hard to characterize. To address this challenge, we introduce LITTLECURRICULUM, a curated 88B-token pretraining corpus tailored to U.S. elementary school material, explicitly excluding concepts, facts, and vocabulary taught above Grade 5. Training a 5B-parameter LLM from scratch on LITTLECURRICULUM yields LITTLELEARNER, a model with sufficient language competence for open-ended evaluation, yet with clear knowledge and capability boundaries mapped to interpretable curriculum guidelines. We release LITTLECURRICULUM and LITTLELEARNER as a developmentally restricted sandbox to study how models acquire, represent, and use data under a well-defined training scope. The Embedder's Dilemma: LLM은 더 뛰어나지만 비용은 얼마나 클까

Should you replace your text-embedding pipeline with a large language model? We answer this with a controlled, cost-aware comparison of ten LLMs across six families and 26 embedding models (118M to 14B parameters) on 37 tasks spanning classification, semantic textual similarity (STS), clustering, pair classification, and retrieval. In aggregate the two paradigms are effectively tied: the best LLM (Gemini 3.1 Pro, 77.6) and the best embedding model (77.2) differ by 0.4 points. Their strengths differ by task: LLMs lead on reasoning-heavy retrieval, embedding models lead on classification, and the two match on clustering, STS, and pair classification. Reaching that parity is expensive. An LLM costs up to 1,431x more than an embedding model of comparable quality (USD 154 vs. USD 0.11 per benchmark pass), and the open LLMs tested process tokens 2.5 to 736x more slowly on the same GPU. Reasoning tokens account for 28 to 81% of LLM inference cost; lower reasoning budgets preserve or improve r

Agentic Abstention: 에이전트는 행동 대신 멈춰야 할 때를 아는가

LLM agents are expected to act over multiple turns, using search, browsing interfaces, and terminal tools to complete user goals. Yet not every goal is well specified or achievable in the available environment. In such cases, a reliable agent should recognize that further interaction is unlikely to help and abstain from additional tool calls. We define Agentic Abstention, the problem of deciding when an agent should stop acting under uncertainty. Unlike standard LLM abstention, which is usually evaluated as a single-turn answer-or-abstain decision, agentic abstention is a sequential decision problem: an agent can answer, abstain, or gather more information at each turn, and the need to abstain may only become clear after interacting with the environment. We study this problem across web shopping, terminal environments, and question answering, evaluating 13 LLM-as-agent systems and 2 agent scaffolds on more than 28,000 tasks. Our results show that the main challenge is not only whether

언어 모델링을 위한 Token Time Continuous Diffusion

언어 모델링을 위한 Token Time Continuous Diffusion

In this paper we introduce token time continuous diffusion (TTCD), a new diffusion language model which (a) operates in continuous space, deterministically mapping Gaussian noise to a final token canvas with no further sampling, and crucially (b) incorporates a new notion of per-token times, with some tokens proceeding from noise to token at a faster rate than others. Continuous space modeling helps TTCD avoid the parallel sampling of multiple tokens, which is a key source of inaccuracy at high speedups for models that iterate purely in discrete space. The notion of per-token times helps TTCD to better model conditional generation, allows for more sure tokens to proceed at a faster rate, and allows for differentiated inter-token influences during refinement. TTCD outperforms discrete models at high speedups. We train a 160M parameter TTCD model on OpenWebText, and then self-distill it; we find that at high speedups we are comparable in unconditional generation quality, and outperform i
