딥 리서치는 믿을 만한가: 오해를 부르는 지식이 잘못된 결론을 만든다

Deep Research agents extend LLM-based assistants into long-horizon workflows involving planning, retrieval, evidence synthesis, and report generation, yet their reliability in open information environments remains underexplored. A key concern is whether apparently credible but factually misleading knowledge encountered in such environments can propagate through these workflows and be adopted as false conclusions in final reports. To study this failure mode, we introduce MisKnow-Agent, a framework for constructing and validating misleading knowledge for Deep Research tasks. MisKnow-Agent generates misleading instances with controllable authority levels and styles, yielding 5,933 quality-controlled instances built on DeepResearch Benchmark tasks. Extensive experiments across open-source and closed-source Deep Research agents show that even limited exposure to misleading knowledge can induce false-conclusion adoption in final reports, revealing a broad reliability vulnerability in current

길이 페널티는 Chain-of-Thought 모니터링 가능성을 떨어뜨린다

Length-penalized reinforcement learning can shorten chain-of-thought reasoning while hiding an influence that drives the model's answer. In our experiments, training with length penalties does not stop misleading hints from steering models, even though the models' chains of thought mention the hint much less often. A token-accuracy evaluation would count these runs as successful because they use fewer reasoning tokens with little accuracy loss; it would miss whether the remaining trace still shows what drove the answer. We train Qwen3-4B and Qwen3-14B variants with different target chain lengths, then evaluate them with biasing-hint interventions on held-out MMLU-Pro-R and four transfer benchmarks. Compression sharply cuts reasoning tokens, preserves most multiple-choice accuracy, and leaves hint influence near baseline. At the strongest target, lower-bound faithfulness falls to 63.1% of baseline for Qwen3-14B and 69.4% for Qwen3-4B; the raw rate at which a monitor catches hint use fal

Flux-OPD: 진화하는 컨텍스트를 반영한 On-Policy Distillation

Large language model training in open-ended domains lacks verifiable rewards, making task preferences difficult to formalize as effective supervision. Contexts can convey such preferences, yet provide little additional supervision once distilled into the student, motivating contexts that evolve with student performance. However, directly using evolving contexts as in-training supervision results in an unstable distillation target and conflicting distributions, requiring mechanisms to stabilize target and downweight conflicts. In this paper, we analyze the effect of contexts through a decomposition of the reverse KL objective, revealing two findings: the student is distilled toward the geometric mean of context-conditioned teachers, and the objective contains a conflict term that measures conflicts among these teachers. Based on this decomposition, we propose Flux-OPD, an OPD paradigm that uses evolving contexts as in-training supervision to capture task preferences in open-ended domain

AI-powered digital avatar streamers must answer product questions, engage viewers, and execute marketing strategies in real time, demanding low latency, frequent strategy updates, and accurate yet effective responses. Evolvable Harnesses, whose Skills, Hooks, prompts, and tools can be updated independently of model weights, enable rapid iteration but expose a trade-off: large models adapt zero-shot yet are too slow, whereas compact models meet latency targets but overfit to fixed Harness configurations. We propose Harness-Aware Training (HAT), which trains compact models to adapt to changing Harnesses. Its key component, Harness-State Augmentation (HSA), applies task-preserving transformations to Skill identifiers and content, tool schemas, prompt structures, and Hook functions. Training proceeds in three stages: HSA-SFT learns reasoning and tool use from strong-model trajectories across diverse environments; General On-Policy Distillation restores generalization lost during SFT; and H

Failure attribution for LLM-based agentic systems, i.e., identifying which steps in a failure trajectory caused the task to fail, is critical for debugging and improving these systems. Existing approaches either rely on prompting-based pipelines, which are computationally expensive, or require post-training on failure trajectories with step-level error annotations, which are costly to collect and difficult to scale. We argue that a practical failure attribution model should be lightweight and trainable without step-level supervision on failure data. To this end, we address unsupervised failure attribution, i.e., training exclusively on successful trajectories and identifying error steps at inference time given a failure trajectory. We propose OAT, which casts this problem as one-class learning with neural controlled differential equations, modeling the dynamical pattern of successful trajectories in latent space. At inference time, each step in a failure trajectory is assigned an anoma

LEDGERMIND: 구조화된 증거 원장을 활용한 출처 제약 멀티모달 에이전트 추론

Multimodal agents for visual question answering increasingly operate as multi-step trajectories that interleave perception, retrieval, and reasoning, yet evaluation still largely reduces to final-answer accuracy. This aggregate signal cannot tell whether a correct answer was reached through grounded evidence, language priors, or accidental error cancellation. We propose to treat a multimodal agent trajectory as a provenance-constrained state machine: tool outputs are normalized into a Structured Evidence Ledger that serves as the trajectory state, downstream reasoning and decision claims may cite only active ledger entries, grounding is checked at the entity and numeric level, and repair is realized as typed state transitions that cannot introduce content without tool-produced provenance. We instantiate this design as LedgerMind (Provenance-Constrained Multimodal Agentic Reasoning with a Structured Evidence Ledger), augmented by a Three-Layer Grounding Protocol, an Adaptive Dual-Path D

ACE-Data-0: 인간 중심 앰비언트 캡처를 embodied 데이터 엔진으로

Embodied intelligence faces a fundamental data bottleneck. Models must capture how first-person perception, whole-body motion, dexterous manipulation, object state, sound, and touch evolve together as humans pursue goals over time. Existing datasets fragment this experience across viewpoints, modalities, or spatial scales, leaving the full perception-action loop only partially observed. We introduce the Ambient Capture Engine (ACE), a human-centric data engine that transforms real home environments into spatially calibrated, temporally synchronized recording studios. ACE operates at two complementary scales: a table-scale configuration resolves hand-object manipulation, while a room-scale configuration captures whole-body motion, locomotion, and interactions across a furnished home. ACE records egocentric and multi-view exocentric video, full-body and articulated hand motion, object geometry and 6-DoF trajectories, audio, and tactile signals as a unified multisensory stream. Σ-Mem: LLM 기반 멀티 에이전트 시스템을 위한 온라인 신뢰성 메모리

Memory is central to long-horizon LLM agents, yet existing memory systems primarily preserve interaction content rather than modeling which agents can be trusted and under what conditions. This limitation is particularly important in multi-agent systems, where a central model may be unable to directly verify plausible or correlated peer responses. We introduce Σ-Mem, an online reliability memory that records historical competence evidence for individual peers and peer relationship evidence across the peer set. Both forms of evidence are maintained as real symmetric states and updated from post-decision correctness feedback. By Weyl's inequality, the spectral change caused by each event-level update is bounded, enabling stable online adaptation without retraining the underlying models. Σ-Mem provides a general write-and-read interface: the same memory can be used for residual steering of a central model, response-free peer routing, or reliability-weighted voting. On-policy self-distillation (OPSD) is a promising approach to improve reasoning language models, but it remains brittle in practice: making it work reliably often requires substantial engineering effort. We identify a structural source of this difficulty: vanilla OPSD is precisely the β=1 member of a broader policy-optimization family, where β weights the KL penalty anchoring the student to a reference policy. This equivalence turns β from an implicit value fixed at one into a controllable regularization parameter, yielding a more general formulation that trades off proximity to a reference policy against privileged teacher guidance. We introduce β-OPSD and derive its optimal policy as a geometric interpolation between the reference policy and the privileged teacher. Directly optimizing this objective with reinforcement learning, however, would be costly and high-variance. Rather than optimize the RL objective directly, we turn its closed-form solution into a distillation target. Each

Fairness Pruning: 차등 활성화로 GLU-MLP 레이어의 인구통계학적 편향 찾기

This work presents Fairness Pruning, a lightweight structural intervention method designed for the management and future mitigation of demographic bias in large language models (LLMs). As a foundational empirical validation of this method, this work focuses on causal bias localization. Using minimally contrastive prompt pairs and inference-time activation capture, the method identifies neurons that react differentially when processing demographic attributes in GLU architectures, evaluating the signal at the down_proj input. Empirical evaluation was conducted on models of up to 3 billion parameters (Llama-3.2 family and Salamandra-2B), combining standardized benchmark evaluation with qualitative text generation experiments. Results demonstrate that zeroing the identified neurons alters how the model responds to associated demographic variables. However, rather than producing flat mitigation, the intervention causes bidirectional bias destabilization: because BiasScore is unsigned, candi

In our prior work, Pedestrian Archetypes, we defined pedestrian archetypes as collections of behaviors that uniquely identify a specific type of pedestrian. The first paper proposed 12 pedestrian archetypes, including the Wanderer, Drunk, Distracted, Flash, Indecisive, Blind, Flock, Jaywalker, Elderly, Kid, Eventful, and Parked Pedestrian. These archetypes were introduced to move beyond single behavior labels and provide a more natural way to describe how dangerous pedestrians actually behave progressively in real-world traffic scenarios. However, upon further annotation of YouTube dash-cam videos, we identified 7 additional pedestrian archetypes with observable and significant behavioral differences from the previously proposed ones. These new archetypes capture pedestrian behavior patterns that could not be fully explained by the original taxonomy. In this pre-print, we introduce each new archetype, define its essential and optional behaviors, explain how it differs from previously p

AMRD: 경량 음성 감정 인식을 위한 적응형 멀티 교사 관계 증류

On-device speech emotion recognition (SER) is critical for real-time applications, yet large self-supervised models that excel at SER are too costly for edge devices. Multi-teacher knowledge distillation can compress them into a lightweight student, but two challenges remain: teacher reliability varies across batches, and logit-level distillation ignores inter-sample relational structure. We propose Adaptive Multi-teacher Relational Distillation (AMRD) to address both. A one-class SVM on each teacher's logit similarity matrix assigns per-batch weights favoring more coherent teachers. A relational distillation loss aligns teacher and student similarity matrices, capturing structure that logit matching misses. On IEMOCAP and CREMA-D datasets across four student architectures, AMRD outperforms single-teacher distillation baselines in most settings, and ablations confirm both components yield complementary gains.

기하학적 상보성을 넘어: Sparse Mixture-of-Experts 라우팅의 일관된 중첩

Sparse mixture-of-experts (MoE) language models route each token to multiple experts, suggesting a geometric account of their benefit: co-selected experts should contribute distinct representation directions. Existing evidence often conflates route coherence, candidate quality, and candidate-by-context interaction. We distinguish these quantities using an Expert Subspace Separation Index (ESSI), matched-route residuals, and a prefix-controlled 2times2 factorial; frozen-route interventions and a controlled Top-k study assess functional value. Three paired contrasts organize the findings. First, across six MoE architectures, expert subspaces overlap substantially, yet actual routes explain token representations better than matched alternatives. Second, across the 39 factorial cells in OLMoE, Mixtral, and DeepSeek, the selected candidate explains more of the residual representation than the strongest unselected rival in every cell, yet the actual prefix narrows this advantage throughout:

Linear Probe와 Mahalanobis Cosine Similarity 비교

Linear Probe와 Mahalanobis Cosine Similarity 비교

Linear probes are widely used in interpretability research and often compared by cosine similarity. The Mahalanobis cosine similarity (MCS) between two directions, which reweights the inner product by test data covariance, is a natural task-aware refinement. Ying et al. (2026) report that a probe's MCS to a reference probe trained on the out-of-distribution (OOD) data near-perfectly linearly predicts the probe's OOD AUROC (R^2 = 0.98). Here, we extend this empirical finding across models, layers, and concept domains, and prove this general phenomenon in closed form: For balanced classes whose projections are Gaussian, OOD AUROC and MCS to the reference probe are linear because both are sigmoid-shaped functions of the probe's signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) on the test data. The theory also predicts when this linearity fails, which we verify empirically. MCS offers a theoretically grounded and empirically effective alternative to Euclidean cosine similarity for comparing linear probes.

GameXpert-Bench: 코딩 에이전트는 전문가급 게임 개발에 얼마나 근접했나

Recent large language models (LLMs) can operate as coding agents that build complete games from natural language requests. Game development is especially demanding because program logic, visual and audio content, interfaces, interaction and playability must function together in one executable artifact. Measuring this capability therefore requires evaluation of both game product and the development process. Existing benchmarks often assess the game development capabilities of LLMs by evaluating the final artifact or an isolated development stage. Our analysis of complete human-agent development trajectories identifies three stages that together span the lifecycle of game development with a coding agent: initial game generation, bug diagnosis and repair, and optimization over multiple turns. Therefore, we introduce GameXpert-Bench, which operationalizes the three lifecycle stages as three complementary benchmark tracks. 에이전트가 너무 빨리 결정할 때: LLM 에이전트의 성급한 확정 진단

Long-horizon LLM agents can fail quietly: they settle on one reading of the evidence early, then spend the rest of the run defending it. We call this premature commitment. Final-answer scoring misses the failure mode because it sees only the answer, not whether the process has already collapsed to a stable path. We define representational commitment as cross-run hidden-state convergence at a fixed reasoning step, and use it as an early diagnostic of trajectory consistency. On Llama-3.1-70B running ReAct on HotpotQA, step-4 hidden-state similarity predicts downstream behavioral consistency (r = -0.35, partial r = -0.45), with a localized temporal and layer-wise signature. The signal replicates across Qwen-2.5-72B and Phi-3-14B, and on StrategyQA (r = -0.83). It does not track correctness: committed-wrong and committed-correct questions are not separable in activation similarity. That boundary is central to the claim. Commitment tells us whether an agent has settled, not whether it is ri

Quantization-Aware Healing: 압축된 4-Bit LLM 복원을 위한 실전 레시피

Serving large language models cheaply increasingly means shipping models that are both structurally compressed to a fraction of their parameters and quantized to 4 bits. Together these steps degrade reasoning, mathematics, coding, and long-context behavior enough to require a recovery, or healing, stage before deployment. The default recipe, quantization-aware training (QAT), re-fits the compressed, quantized model to hard labels; in our pipeline it converged slowly and collapsed past its peak. We adopted Quantization-Aware Healing (QAH) instead. Because a structurally compressed model is never independently trained at full precision, its bfloat16 checkpoint is a distillation-recovered approximation of the original; QAH distills the 4-bit student directly from the original, uncompressed model. On a GPT-OSS 120B to 60B to MXFP4 pipeline, the QAH student matches or beats its bfloat16 source on 7 of 9 benchmarks at roughly 4 times less weight memory and half the teacher's parameter count,

Large language models are increasingly expected to execute complex workflows whose success depends on maintaining interdependent constraints and producing artifacts that satisfy strict end-to-end verification. Yet successful execution experience is typically lost after a single run, forcing subsequent models to rediscover strategies and failure modes from scratch. We study whether such experience can instead be externalized and reused through EvoMap, where verifier-confirmed execution trajectories are consolidated into structured Gene. To evaluate this setting, we introduce the Long-Workflow Benchmark (LongWoF-Bench), comprising 778 machine-verifiable tasks across code generation, agent-environment synthesis, mathematical reasoning, and rule following. On the 252 tasks with verifier-confirmed Opus trajectories, evolved EvoMap Gene outperform Skill across all seven evaluated models by 8.7-15.5 percentage points, with the gains extending to consumer models from different model families.

Recent advances in inference-time scaling have significantly improved the reasoning performance of large language models (LLMs). However, these methods typically rely on repeated generation or external verification. To address this limitation, we introduce CritICL, a novel inference-time framework that improves reasoning while maintaining high efficiency. Our key insight is that LLM failure modes exhibit structured patterns across model scales within the same family. Instead of treating failures as undesirable outputs, CritICL leverages them as a source of guidance. Specifically, we utilize failure modes derived from weaker models and incorporate them into inference through critique-based in-context examples. We propose two variants: CritICL-dynamic, which adaptively predicts input-specific failure modes and retrieves critiques, and CritICL-static, which uses a global failure mode profile to provide stable guidance. Experimental results show that CritICL consistently outperforms standa

Long-context prefill in large language models (LLMs) incurs substantial computation and memory traffic because dense self-attention computes quadratic query-key scores. Existing methods either use a uniform low-precision path or select token interactions, leaving spatial precision routing over hardware-aligned score tiles outside fused dense attention. We introduce TileMix, a tile-centric precision-routing kernel that makes numerical precision an executable spatial decision over score-tile groups within fused dense attention. TileMix partitions the attention matrix into hardware-aligned score tiles, packs routing decisions into compact bitmasks, and dispatches each tile group through FP16 or INT8 score computation while both paths update a shared online-softmax state. Scalable precision grouping lets each routing bit govern multiple adjacent key tiles, preserving hardware-aligned compute tiles and compact metadata at long contexts. ARC: 개방형 실세계 상호작용을 위한 공정한 상대적 우위 비교

Open-ended real-world interaction admits multiple valid behaviors: an agent may answer directly, ask for clarification, provide progress updates, or confirm before acting. This flexibility breaks a core assumption behind group-based RL: rollouts compared within a group are no longer guaranteed to be behaviorally comparable. As a result, reward-model preferences over interaction style can distort relative advantages and steer optimization toward reward-preferred behaviors rather than context-appropriate ones. We formalize this as a reward fairness problem and propose ARC (Advantage Regularization via Conditioning), a training recipe that restores fairer relative comparison through strategy-conditioned rollout grouping, together with hybrid rewards and entropy regularization. We study ARC in our proposed \inter, a novel paradigm for responsive, steerable, and execution-aware user-agent interaction that decouples user-visible communication from latent reasoning and tool use. \inter\ also

모방을 넘어: 추론 진전에 따라 On-Policy Distillation 걸러내기

On-policy distillation (OPD) has emerged as an effective framework for post-training language models by pairing student-generated trajectories with dense token-level supervision from a teacher. However, OPD implicitly assumes that teacher-derived rewards are an appropriate proxy for reasoning progress, and therefore treats all teacher feedback equally during policy optimization. While in practice, this assumption does not always hold. We observe that teacher-derived rewards often conflict with genuine reasoning progress, as reasoning steps with clear reasoning advancement may still receive lower distillation rewards, simply due to deviation from teacher's outputs. To address this mismatch, we propose Reasoning-Progress-Aware Reward Filtering for On-Policy Distillation (R2-OPD), which constructs two within-trajectory rankings of reasoning spans, one from teacher-derived rewards and the other from independently estimated progress reward. Distillation rewards are selectively suppressed wh

Electrocardiogram (ECG) recordings are sensitive biomedical data, limiting the ability of hospitals and wearable devices to share raw signals for centralized model training. Federated learning addresses this practical privacy constraint by enabling collaborative model training while keeping raw biosignal data at their respective sources. However, federated ECG classification remains challenging due to limited client-side samples, imbalanced arrhythmia labels, and non-independent and identically distributed (non-IID) data across clients. These constraints require classifiers that are both communication-efficient and robust to cross-client distribution shifts. In this work, we evaluate a hybrid quantum-inspired Kolmogorov-Arnold network (HQKAN) against a multilayer perceptron (MLP) for five-class arrhythmia classification on the MIT-BIH dataset and three-class classification on the INCART dataset under federated averaging (FedAvg). Across 12 commercial and open-weights LLMs, all models are vulnerable: a single polluted page yields fooled rates of up to 27%, while the full top-3 replacement raises this to 73.8%. Vulnerability varies across categories, increasing when models lack stable prior knowledge of the products. Reasoning does not mitigate this vulnerability; instead, it often generates spu

Major components of the CoD framework include: (1) algorithm design and infrastructure for end-to-end reinforcement learning (RL) with long rollout sequences interleaving solve-task and update-context episodes; (2) tasks and environments for incentivizing and eliciting the targeted meta-capability in LLMs during training, as well as for faithfully measuring progress during evaluation. Polygonal meshes are the standard surface representation of modern 3D pipelines, and generating high-quality meshes with artist-style topology is essential for film, gaming, and interactive 3D applications. Mainstream approaches serialize a mesh into a token sequence and decode it autoregressively, which is slow at inference and sensitive to error accumulation, making them impractical for interactive asset creation. We present Meshy T2, a fast native mesh generation framework built on flow matching. At its core is a vertex-set mesh VAE that encodes a mesh into one continuous latent token per vertex and decodes vertices, edge connectivity, and face winding order in a single pass, preserving high-precision geometry and artist-authored topology without vertex quantization or welding. Generation proceeds as a coarse-to-fine cascade of two flow-matching models: an image-conditioned voxel flow first sketches the overall shape as a coarse occupancy scaffold, and a mesh flow then populates the
