ImIR: 올인원 이미지 복원을 위한 Image-Instruction 튜닝

Degradations vary widely across images, so a practical restoration system has to handle many degradation types with one model. A recent and effective recipe adapts a large pretrained image-editing model to restoration using a small low-rank adapter with a text prompt. We replace that prompt with an instruction derived from the degraded image itself. The image reaches the editor through two paths: its structure comes from the model's VAE, and its semantic instruction comes from a lightweight token mapper that shifts the degraded image's vision-language embedding toward the embedding a clean image would produce. Because the instruction is a continuous vector, scaling it yields a family of valid restorations for tasks whose target is not unique, such as low-light enhancement. We adapt one Qwen-Image-Edit model to six tasks with a single adapter trained in about three hours on one GPU. The image instruction outperforms text conditioning under a matched comparison, and it supports task agno

부분 관측 로봇 조작을 위한 스킬 수준 메모리 벤치마킹과 성능 향상

Recent advances in robot learning have enabled manipulation policies to perform increasingly diverse tasks and generalize across environments. However, reliable execution often depends on hidden task states that cannot be determined from current observations alone, making interaction history essential. We introduce HIDE, a benchmark for evaluating manipulation memory under partial observability. HIDE comprises 15 tasks covering repetition counting, historical-state recall, and execution-progress tracking, with randomized initial configurations and decision points where similar observations require different actions depending on prior events. We further propose SEEK, a framework combining three complementary memory mechanisms to retain historical evidence and track execution state. Evaluations reveal substantial limitations in existing policies on HIDE, while memory augmentation improves task success in both simulation and real-world experiments. Individual mechanisms benefit some tasks

희소 보상을 성과로, 다중 보상 RL 위한 밀도 인식형 보상 집계

Multi-reward reinforcement learning trains large language models to satisfy multiple behavioral objectives simultaneously. Reward-wise normalization, as used in GDPO, preserves reward-specific relative information within rollout groups, but different objectives can still exhibit uneven learning progress. We study this behavior through advantage energy, the sum of a reward's squared advantages over a batch. Under idealized GDPO normalization, we show that this energy is proportional to active-group density: the fraction of rollout groups in which the reward provides nonzero relative advantages. This reveals a residual batch-level signal imbalance and provides a basis for calibrating reward contributions. Based on this relation, we propose Density-Aware Reward Aggregation (DARA). We derive an inverse-square-root density correction that gives greater weight to signals from less frequently active rewards. DARA computes its weights from each rollout batch, adapting to changes in reward acti

비디오 확산 모델은 왜 물리를 어길까: 어텐션 메커니즘의 결함 분석

Despite impressive visual quality, state-of-the-art video diffusion models often generate content that violates real-world physical laws. While existing solutions rely on external priors or specialized data, we investigate the root cause by exploring the internal mechanisms of these models. Specifically, we present the first interpretability study on the ''motion planning'' process of text-to-video diffusion models, revealing how motion trajectories form during early denoising stages. Building upon the ''first shape, then details'' finding, we combine cross-attention trajectory patterns with causal head contributions to identify a specific subset of attention heads driving motion planning. Further, our self-attention analysis shows that Rotary Position Embedding (RoPE) induces excessive spatial attention decay. This causes early candidate regions to prematurely lock into physically implausible positions, suppressing reasonable trajectories in adjacent frames and triggering generation f

WhatWorkedBench: AI 에이전트의 실험 이해력 벤치마크

AI research agents need reliable knowledge of how their experiments change outcomes. We introduce WhatWorkedBench to measure experimental understanding, the accuracy of predictions about component changes after budgeted experimentation. Agents inspect code, select measurements, and submit a response surface, a table predicting scores for every configuration of component settings. Exhaustive CPU execution supplies reference effects for changing each component while holding the others fixed. These effects capture combinations of changes across 36 tasks from 30 data sources and 8 workflow types, with 1248 configuration records. Core evaluation combines 4,206 numerical-control records across all eight families and 108 agent episodes across the original six. At eight new measurements, pair-effect ridge selects an optimum on 15 of 22 sources and limits every effect error to 10% of score range on three. Fitting a Gaussian process (GP) to the same agent observations raises effect recovery, acc

J-Zero: 제로 데이터로 구현한 Challenger-Solver-Judge 통합 공동 진화

Self-evolving language models have recently emerged as a promising path toward superintelligence, with the advantage of reducing the cost of human supervision. While considerable progress has been made in verifiable domains, self-evolution in unverifiable domains remains substantially less explored. We propose Judge co-adaptation from Zero data (J-Zero), a unified Challenger--Solver--Judge co-evolution framework that supports self-improvement across both domains. The Challenger and Solver co-evolve through an adversarial interaction: the Challenger generates increasingly difficult tasks, while the Solver learns to produce higher-quality responses to them. In parallel, the Judge co-adapts using preference pairs whose ordering is known in advance from how each response was produced, i.e., the Solver's answer over the Challenger's, and its decomposed-and-recombined answer over its one-shot answer, rather than from the Judge's own scores. J-Zero outperforms the baselines by an average of 4

비전-언어 모델을 위한 프로그램 검증 기반 자기 진화

Self-evolving vision-language models train on questions they generate from unlabeled images. Since these questions have no gold answers, prior methods label them by majority vote over sampled answers or by a model judge. In a human evaluation, we find that 24\% of majority-vote labels and 18\% of model-judge labels produced during self-evolution are wrong. To address this problem, we present Verifiable QA Generation for Self-Evolving Models (VQS), which changes how the model judges answers. Instead of voting on an answer, the model parses each image into a structured record, such as a scene graph, a chart table, or a diagram graph. Fixed programs then write a question from the record and compute its answer. The model still acts as a visual checker, but it only confirms the individual facts the program reads, one short claim at a time. These claim-level checks select the parser's training targets, so the parser also improves without labels. Human raters find 94\% of VQS answers correct,

Thinking on Shots: 에이전트형 추론으로 구현한 일관된 멀티샷 비디오 편집

While generative AI has significantly advanced video editing, existing methods primarily focus on single-shot or short video clips. Editing long videos with multiple instructions remains a formidable challenge. Naive chunking strategies, e.g., fixed-duration segmentation, often lead to entity fragmentation, severe editing hallucinations, and disrupted temporal continuity. To bridge this gap, we introduce the Multi-Instruction Multi-Shot Long-Video Editing (MMLVE) task, which is structured around three core objectives: Cross-Shot Editing Consistency (CSEC), Multi-Instruction Decoupling (MID), and Zero-Destruction on Spatiotemporal Structure (ZDSS). To tackle these three unique challenges, we introduce an agentic editing framework that leverages the synergy of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Vision-Language Models (VLMs) to achieve shot-level video decoupling and precise instruction parsing. Furthermore, to comprehensively evaluate this task, we construct MMLVE-Bench, which is an MMLVE-

DEFINE, 제로샷 TTS를 위한 예시 기반 억양 제어

Zero-shot text-to-speech (TTS) can reproduce an unseen speaker from a short reference recording, but typically entangles speaker identity and accent within the same reference. We introduce DEFINE, an end-to-end framework that decouples these factors by conditioning speaker identity and target accent on separate audio exemplars. A single inference-time guidance weight continuously controls accent strength without retraining. Built on F5-TTS with parameter-efficient LoRA adaptation, DEFINE maps short accent exemplars into a conditioning space using an exemplar encoder supervised through learned accent prototypes, requiring neither accent labels at inference time nor post-synthesis waveform conversion. On seen accents, increasing accent guidance improves accent-probe accuracy from 6.5% to 19.6%. More importantly, a single DEFINE model generalizes accent control beyond its training accent set: on seen and out-of-domain accents, though not on held-out accents, it matches the accent transfer

BI-Agent·BI-Bench: 엔드투엔드 비즈니스 인텔리전스 자동화로

Business intelligence (BI) is a cornerstone of enterprise decision-making and is widely used by enterprise users in software such as Power BI and Tableau. In traditional BI workflows, users need to prepare data by (1) identifying relevant tables, (2) performing data transformations, and (3) building join relationships, before they can (4) answer their business questions. These steps can be complex and time-consuming, making BI challenging. Given the strong capabilities of large language models (LLMs) in working with data, we study their ability to answer BI questions end-to-end, without requiring users to manually perform the tedious preparation steps. To do this, we harvest a large collection of real-world BI projects from public sources, and manually extract pairs of (questions, ground-truth answers) from real user dashboards. The resulting benchmark, BI-Bench, is the first benchmark to systematically study LLMs' ability on end-to-end BI. We find that even frontier LLMs perform p

ProAR, 오토리그레시브 비디오 모델로 미래지향 추론 학습

Autoregressive (AR) video models excel at causal generation, but their reliance on next-chunk prediction confines them to a short-sighted, reactive paradigm. This limitation is particularly consequential for reasoning-oriented generation, where achieving a target outcome through valid intermediate states matters more than local visual plausibility. To address this challenge, we propose Learning Prospective Reasoning with Autoregressive Video Models (ProAR), a novel framework that transforms autoregressive video generation into a goal-oriented reasoning process. ProAR introduces two key components: (1) To anchor generation to the long-range outcome, we integrate goal-frame prediction into the autoregressive loop via an asymmetric attention mask, enabling the predicted goal frame to guide the generation of intermediate states without being disrupted by them. (2) To guide short-range transitions, we introduce future representation self-alignment to encourage current hidden states to antic

Imprint Reader: 가중치 업데이트 판독에서 행동 개입까지

As language models take a growing role in AI development, a natural aspiration is for them to reflect on their own learning process, as humans do, and use that reflection to improve themselves. At the same time, these models have an advantage that human learners lack, since training leaves parameter-level traces that can, in principle, be inspected directly. However, current models cannot decode these traces into an explicit account of what they have learned. To this end, we introduce the Imprint Reader, a model trained with Semantic Mount-and-Read Tuning (SaRT) to describe frozen weight updates. SMaRT mounts each update onto the Reader and uses an anchor-free meta-query to elicit a natural-language description, while no-change and random-perturbation controls discourage unsupported claims. On held-out updates, the joint Reader reaches judge-based Pass@100 of 2% for knowledge and 16% for behavior. These results demonstrate the feasibility of natural-language readout while pointing to r

Act with Intent: Vision-Language-Action 모델을 위한 행동 의도 증류

Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models can turn multimodal context into robot actions, but their action decoders are still trained largely by behavior cloning. This supervises which motor command was demonstrated while leaving implicit the local objective served by the behavior under the instruction. Future-based supervision enriches action learning with frames, latent observations, trajectories, or motion representations, but these signals capture particular realizations of what may happen rather than the shared semantic objective of the forthcoming behavior. We propose Intention Distillation (INDI), which distills behavior-level intent into the action decoder. During training, a frozen teacher VLM interprets a demonstrated segment from the current observation, instruction, coarse action summary, and corresponding execution video. From its standard inputs, the deployed VLA recovers the resulting multimodal intent representation at an intermediate decoder layer and uses it to organize act

LLM 강화학습의 학습-추론 불일치, 어디서 생기고 어떻게 바로잡을까

We study training-inference mismatch in reinforcement learning with verifiable rewards (RLVR) for large language models, where rollouts are sampled by an inference engine while gradients are computed by a training engine, and the two engines assign different probabilities to the same tokens. To account for this discrepancy in policy updates, we introduce calibrated importance sampling (CIS). CIS is motivated by an empirically supported logit-displacement characterization that expresses the mismatch as an additive displacement varepsilon_t in log-odds, determined by the per-logit perturbation before the softmax, whose distribution is approximately invariant to token confidence. This characterization motivates a confidence-aware truncation: large positive displacements are truncated at a single constant threshold, which maps back to an importance-ratio cap that tightens as token confidence increases. Theoretically, we show that CIS replaces the unbounded second moment that governs the er

DeformSmith: 로봇 조작용 변형 자산 생성을 위한 물리 하네스 기반 계층형 생성

Creating deformable assets for robot manipulation requires jointly specifying their geometry, appearance, and physical properties. This is especially challenging for deformable objects, since text and images provide limited evidence about how they deform and respond to contact, yet these responses directly affect their suitability for interaction. Automated generation therefore needs to resolve coupled physical requirements and use interaction evidence to guide construction and refinement. We present DeformSmith, a framework that enables automated generation of interactive, physically credible deformable assets from text or a single image. Through hierarchical agentic construction and a shared physics-grounded harness, it progressively builds, tests, and refines geometry, physical models, material behavior, and robot interaction until the resulting asset is ready for simulation and manipulation. 명시적 궤적 없이 3D diffusion policy의 예측력 학습

3D diffusion policies are strong at generating geometrically grounded actions from current observations, but successful manipulation requires not only knowing what motion is feasible now, but also anticipating where the interaction is heading. Existing policies largely leave such foresight to emerge implicitly from action learning. We introduce Movement Trend Guidance, a simple but effective way to provide this foresight without introducing an explicit plan. From a short observation history, the policy learns a compact latent representation of interaction evolution. During training, sparse future gripper states supervise this representation; at inference, only the latent is retained as future-oriented conditioning alongside the current observation. The latent provides global conditioning for action generation, while an additional gated FiLM branch is used only at the UNet bottleneck. Despite adding only 3.52% more parameters to DP3, our method preserves the original dense-action and re

Direct-decision models turn text into low-latency structured labels and scores, making them attractive for classification and automatic evaluation. Yet reliability requires more than accuracy: a model must also use the ordinal decision scale supplied by the user faithfully. We analyze JEV~1.13 and three open KEV models. Our investigation begins with ANLI, where JEV assigns 38.8\% of all predictions and 51.3\% of errors to Neutral despite 74.95\% accuracy, nearly balanced gold labels, and balanced candidate positions. Across 36 ordinal datasets, final decisions use only 67--76\% of the effective gold support, versus 87--102\% on four nominal tasks. Randomizing candidate order weakens but does not remove this compression. Holding items and source scores fixed while balancing gold support and positions, we refine scales from K=2 to 14; utilization falls for every model and reaches 26--75\% at K=14, although candidate probabilities remain broad for most models. 랭킹 품질은 같아도 판단은 다르다: LLM 평가기의 순서 의존성 측정·완화

In passage reranking, response ranking and multi-document question answering, LLMs can score several candidate documents or responses together in one prompt, each still receiving its own score. Such scorers are selected on ranking quality, but their scores determine a decision: what a score threshold retains, a reader answers, or which chosen/rejected pair enters preference training. Because the candidates share that prompt, reordering them changes their scores. The same query over the same candidates should still yield the same decision. However, equal ranking quality does not imply equal decisions: on passage reranking, five trained scorers within 0.010 nDCG@10 retain sets that overlap by only 0.66-0.84 when reordered. No prompt-time change we test resolves that dependence: the only one that improves ranking quality does not measurably improve decision stability. We introduce order-consistency SFT (OC-SFT), which attenuates it in the weights by penalizing disagreement between a candi

Vision-language-action (VLA) models generalize broadly across robotic manipulation tasks, but complex environments require balancing task success with unintended contact. Runtime shields can correct individual actions, but they leave the underlying policy unchanged, so repeated disagreements may create a persistent policy-shield mismatch that blocks task progress. To address this challenge, we introduce FailBank, a four-stage self-evolving framework that converts runtime feedback into persistent policy improvement. During collection, a fixed CBF-based safety module serves as an observe-only teacher, producing counterfactual corrections while the policy remains in control. Outcome-aware admission then converts useful proposals into corrective targets and retains successful uncorrected actions as quiet anchors for guarded LoRA updates. We evaluate FailBank on the VLA-Arena benchmark across two difficulty levels and two VLA backbones. Compared with the base policies, FailBank improves the

현실 세계 Motion Language Model을 위한 플러그 앤 플레이 2D 모션 인터페이스

Motion Language Models (MoLMs) typically understand human motions by tokenizing 3D motion and processing the resulting tokens using a language model. However, obtaining accurate 3D motions from monocular videos is challenging, limiting their real-world applicability. To address this issue, we introduce a plug-and-play 2D Motion Interface that enables 3D-pretrained MoLMs to accept 2D motion inputs without modifying or fine-tuning the original models. Experiments on public datasets show that our method achieves performance comparable to 3D motion inputs across multiple MoLMs and outperforms training MoLMs from scratch on 2D motions. We further construct a monocular real-world video motion evaluation dataset and introduce a real-video adapter, demonstrating the usefulness of 2D motions over 3D motions under the evaluated monocular pose-estimation setting. These results suggest that 2D motion provides a practical interface for deploying MoLMs in real-world motion understanding settings.

Generative models can synthesize high-quality inauthentic multimedia content that is already being misused at scale. We evaluate twenty deepfake detectors against ten generators released in the last four years and find accuracy decreasing over time, from near-perfect 99.5% to 76%. Adversarial perturbations further reduce every baseline detector to below 2% accuracy, effectively inverting the detector's assigned label. We argue that this unreliability reflects a fundamental ambiguity: generators can reproduce authentic content exactly (e.g., through memorization), so content alone cannot reveal the true provenance label. For this reason, content produced by a generator must admit a faithful reconstruction by that same generator, and finding such a reconstruction makes synthetic provenance plausible and authenticity plausibly deniable. We therefore propose and evaluate a detection paradigm that outputs a calibrated prediction of whether authenticity is plausibly deniable: a faithful recons

Gated Recurrent Transformers: 순환 변조로 표현력 있는 깊이 구현

Scaling transformer language models creates an inherent tension between expressivity and memory efficiency. While unique weights across layers preserve functional specialization---from input-grounding to abstract refinement---they incur a substantial memory footprint. Conversely, standard depth-sharing enforces uniform transformations that collapse representational diversity and degrade modeling quality. We introduce Gated Recurrent Transformer, a recurrent depth transformer where fixed-depth prelude and coda blocks bracket a single shared core iterated R times. Inspired by gated recurrent neural networks, we employ a lightweight projection and an elementwise update gate---conditioned on the hidden state, the fixed prelude output, and noise resampled at every step---to modulate the recurrent update. This allows the model to specialize the input to the same few layers across recurrences, rather than requiring many unique layers to achieve functional diversity. Under an isoFLOPS constrai

PaperCompiler: 저장소 수준 명세 컴파일로 구현한 충실한 논문-코드 생성

Faithfully translating research papers into repository-level implementations remains challenging because papers often describe methods at a high level, leave implementation assumptions implicit, and require generated repositories to preserve method logic, evaluation protocols, and cross-file consistency. Despite recent advances in paper-to-code agents, their intermediate outputs are often presented as free-form plans or summaries that downstream coding agents may ignore, reinterpret, or compress, leading to algorithmic simplification and inconsistent repository structure. To address these challenges, we introduce PaperCompiler, a paper-to-code generation framework that compiles paper-grounded evidence into explicit repository-level implementation specifications. PaperCompiler grounds implementation-relevant evidence while preserving source provenance and distinguishing paper-supported, inferred, externally delegated, and unresolved information. In this paper, we study how training data creates associations between the tokens at the start of a base model's response and the reasoning behavior that follows. First, we demonstrate that fixing particular starting token cues makes a base model's performance competitive with that of its reinforcement learning (RL)-trained counterparts on math and coding. For instance, the cue ".\n\nOkay" raises Olmo-3-7B's MATH-500 pass@1 accuracy from 42% to 78%, while "Alright," raises Qwen3-14B's from 72% to 87%. Second, RL makes these cues more likely, while fixing them recovers much of its performance gain over the base model. Third, we trace the reasoning effects of token cues to the training data. We perform causal data interventions to turn an arbitrary word, such as "chicken", into an effective reasoning cue, or remove an existing cue's effect. A similar edit makes the prompt instruction "Think duck duck goose" as effective as "Think step by step" at eliciting reasoning. We also find that th

MoE 루프 구현법: 전문가를 평탄화하고 Attention 결합을 해제하라

Looped Transformers reuse one block of layers several times: by spending extra computation they push a model of fixed size further, and so use its parameters more fully; while sparse mixture-of-experts (MoE) models activate only a few of many experts for each token. Looped MoE bridges these two design philosophies and gives MoE models new potential for better expert usage, but it raises a question: how to loop a MoE? We answer it with Foil. With the expert parameters and the expert compute per token held fixed, Foil (1) flattens the experts, halving the expert layers, doubling the experts per layer and doubling the passes, so that every routing decision chooses from a larger pool, and (2) unties the attention, giving each pass its own attention parameters while the experts and routers stay shared. Experiments show that Foil clearly outperforms the unflattened looped baseline: at 20B tokens every Foil model has lower pretraining loss than the baseline; at 100B tokens the loss improves m

Visual Place Recognition (VPR) localizes a query image by retrieving database images of the same or nearby place, yet its robustness is often degraded by domain shifts arising from illumination, weather, seasonal changes, and dynamic occlusions. One contributing factor is the limited appearance diversity of the same place in existing training data. To address this issue, we propose AdaptVPR, a route-aware generative augmentation framework that constructs same-place hard positives for robust VPR training. AdaptVPR first uses a vision language model to parse scene attributes and estimate editing feasibility, while a rule-based scheduler determines the generation route according to editability scores and risk constraints. HLA-WM: 장기 예측 비디오 월드 모델을 위한 하이브리드 선형 Attention

Long-horizon video world models require persistent memory to preserve scene consistency over extended rollouts. Softmax attention retains the full generation history through a growing KV cache, whereas recurrent linear attention compresses history into fixed-size states with substantially lower memory cost. However, we identify severe long-range forgetting in Gated DeltaNet (GDN), where information from distant but relevant scenes is progressively attenuated by subsequent state updates. To address this limitation, we propose HLA-WM, a training-free hybrid linear-attention framework that combines coarse-grained geometry-guided retrieval with fine-grained recurrent linear-state computation. HLA-WM exploits the affine structure of GDN to cache compact chunk-wise transition summaries, retrieve scene-relevant historical chunks using camera geometry, and recompose them into query-specific recurrent states. 오디오-비디오 모델의 Attention Triangle

Audio-video diffusion models rely on cross-modal attention to coordinate text, sound, and visual content, yet this same mechanism can introduce subtle and systematic semantic leakage. We study these models by probing and analyzing the ``attention triangle,'' comprising the three cross-attention edges connecting the text, audio, and video streams, and examine how semantic information is routed across modalities during generation. Our analysis reveals that routing along the audio-video edge is bidirectional: audio can influence video generation, while video can influence audio generation. This edge is shaped by biases encoded in the model's parameters and emerges as a major contributor to leakage: when prompts are in tension with learned priors, cross-modal interactions may override the intended conditioning and reroute semantics toward visually canonical but incorrect outcomes. These effects suggest that semantic artifacts arise not merely from attention spreading beyond its intended ta

The executable harness surrounding a GUI model determines how observations are assembled, actions are executed, and verification, recovery, and termination are controlled. Compared with harness optimization for non-GUI agents, automatically optimizing this harness poses three coupled challenges: reconciling model intent with observed visual effects, diagnosing failures under variable execution outcomes, and identifying recurrent failure patterns across tasks and translating them into reusable runtime changes. We introduce GUI-HARVEST, an automatic harness optimizer that enables self-improving GUI agents with frozen backbone models. First, to ground diagnosis in observed action effects, it aligns model outputs and executed actions with before-and-after screenshots, tying findings to specific interface transitions.
